The head of state traveled to meet with Ukrainian forces in the Pokrovsk area on the weekday. The president confirmed that he engaged with warriors at the operational headquarters of the initial brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine Azov, which is leading defense efforts in the Dobropillya area, a town approximately 20km from the focal point.

Intense Situation in Pokrovsk

Recent mapping from a local initiative indicated that Russian forces had advanced deeper into the city and surrounding areas, though much of it was not fully held by either side. The situation remains critical, with reports indicating that invading units were fortifying positions and enhancing fortifications in various sectors.

Opposition armies are making progress in the Pokrovsk direction and are reportedly acting with growing ease within urban Pokrovsk.

Military experts observed that defense units had recaptured substantial territory of a enemy advance in the Dobropillya direction, on the eastern edge of the Pokrovsk effort.

Ukrainian Drone Strikes Inside Russia

Kyiv's aerial vehicles attacked an industrial plant approximately over 800 miles inside Russia at the location. City administration confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that caused its water treatment facility to suffer damage, adding that the reason for the blast was unconfirmed. The Ukrainian military general staff stated there was considerable damage to the complex.

Ukraine's military said it struck a Lukoil oil refinery at the city in the Russian region in central Russia. The extent of the damage was being assessed. The Russian regional governor confirmed an attack by 20 drones near the area.

Moscow's Security Policy Changes

Russian military reservists will now have to guard oil refineries against unmanned assaults after the president approved legislation on the start of the week increasing their involvement in the war effort. The Russian ruler also signed a law permitting draft enrollment continuously whereas previously it was possible only during specific times in cooler seasons. The federation restricts conscripts from being assigned to fighting, but after their defense commitment they become part of the backup units, exposing them to potential of being sent to war.

Ukrainian Leader's Calls for Allied Help

The national leader urged the US to remain open to supplying Kyiv with long-range weapons. Speaking at an EU meeting from the eastern front, the Ukrainian president also demanded more western sanctions on the federation – including on Russia's gas and nuclear sectors – and said he sought accession to the union before 2030.
